The Vision
Genesis 28:10-19
V10 And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran.
V11. And He lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.
V12. And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: behold the angels of God ascending and decending on it.
V13. And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed.
V14. And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
V15. And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land:for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
V16 And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the Lord is in this place:and I knew it not.
V17. And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.
V18. And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.
V19. And he called the name of that place Bethel:but the name of that city was called Luz at the first.
The Revelation of the Vision as revealed to Donald Hunter
The Spirit of the Lord spoke expressingly to me stating "I will do a new thing in the house of Israel". We know that Israel prophetically speaking is synomous to the church. It is written, Roman 2:28-29, V28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: V29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. Nevertheless, there are some prophecies that speak specifically to natural Israel. The Lord revealed to me that he had given to me a land, which Jacob called Bethel, which means in the Hebrew the "House of God". Jacob laid his head upon the stone of that place, for a pillow even a foundation upon which he had rest which is by revelation Jesus Christ. It is written, 1Pe 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. In that place and upon that foundation, Jacob was made to both see and hear that which is spiritual even that which is normally not seen by men except the Lord reveal it. Jacob saw the angels of God, which are spirit, and he heard the voice of God, who is spirit. The Lord revealed to him that the land whereon he laid was given to him even Bethel. It was in that place, where Jacob saw the Angels of God decending and acending which reveal it to be a place of much supernatural activity from heaven, even the works and miracle power of God. Bethel is not just a natural building, bricks and mortar, but even more so a state of being in spirit wherein we are made to behold the secret things of God and that land is appointed to Jacob who laid his head upon the stone and his seed. The Lord spoke to me saying that the seed are those that will partake in the land, and those born of God as a result of the preaching of the Gospel. These shall spread to the North, South, East and West, and shall be as the dust of the earth. The Lord also said in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth shall be blessed. These are the leaders that shall come forth of my seed even as Christ Jesus the seed of Abramham blessed all nations. The Evangelistic portion of the ministry was revealed in the statement, I will be with thee and keep thee in all the places thou shalt go, and will bring you again into this land.
